Why Work
With an RHU?
Deal
with an Expert – A Registered Health Underwriter.
For legal advice you consult a legal professional. For
tax advice you consult a tax professional. Now you have an insurance
professional to consult for all your health insurance needs - a
Registered Health Underwriter (RHU).
Through rigorous formal studies and
ongoing continuing education, a Registered Health Underwriter is
equipped to provide you with expertise in all aspects of the individual
and group disability income and medical insurance markets.
You Benefit by Working with an RHU
When dealing with a Registered Health Underwriter you
are assured of receiving the advice and expertise of an insurance
professional who really knows the health insurance business - from
disability buy/sells to Medicare, from group medical plans to long term
care insurance.
An RHU . . .
- Has a minimum of 3 years experience in the health
insurance business.
- Knows how to put the latest benefits to work for
you.
- Has completed a 3-course formal educational
program, fully accredited by the Middle States Association of
Colleges and Schools, Philadelphia, PA.
- Must be re-certified every 2 years by The American
College.
- Is bound by the Professional Pledge of The American
College.
RHUs Represent Professionalism
In pursuing the RHU professional
designation and putting it to work for you, RHU's pledge to:
-
Reflect by example the highest
professional performance and conduct of which they are capable.
-
Pursue programs of continuing
education and self-improvement so they can serve in the best
possible manner the interests of their clients.
-
Provide sincere encouragement and
support to others in the health insurance industry to study and
persevere toward the achievement of the RHU designation.
-
Recognize the commitment to
community, to become actively involved in health-related projects
for the betterment of all those whom we seek to serve.
-
Uphold the Professional Pledge of the
American College.
The RHU Professional Designation
is sponsored by The American College. The oldest and most respected
school of its kind, The American College is an independent, nonprofit,
accredited educational institution that provides graduate and
professional education, primarily on a distance self-study basis, to
individuals seeking career growth in the field of financial services.
Founded in 1927 by Solomon S. Huebner, a professor at the University of
Pennsylvania's Wharton School, The American College is located in the
suburban community of Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania, approximately twelve
miles west of downtown Philadelphia. Noted for its award-winning
architecture and horticulture, the thirty-five acre campus includes a
full-service library and a major conference center with modem classrooms
and residence facilities. The American College is the exclusive provider
of four professional designations: The CLU (Chartered Life Underwriter),
the CHFC (Chartered Financial Consultant), the RHU (Registered Health
Underwriter), and the REBC (Registered Employee Benefits Consultant).
The Professional Pledge
The Pledge to which all Huebner School
designees subscribe is as follows: "In all of my professional
relationships, I pledge myself to the following rule of ethical conduct:
I shall, in light of all conditions surrounding those I serve, which I
shall make every conscientious effort to ascertain and understand,
render that service which, in the same circumstances, I would apply to
myself."
The Canons
-
Conduct yourself at all times with
honor and dignity.
-
Avoid practices that would bring
dishonor upon yourself or The American College.
-

that enhance the integrity of your profession.

working life so as to maintain a high level of professional
competence.
